Week 30 hits the ten-milliliter-of-amniotic-fluid-per-pound mark, and the baby is approaching three pounds. Red blood cell production shifts to the bone marrow, a sign of mature systems coming online.
The eyes can track light, and the baby can turn toward a bright source pressed near the belly. Lanugo continues disappearing, and toenails have reached the tips of the toes. Average daily gain now approaches half an ounce.
